HJR 24                                                                       
HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION NO. 24 am Relating to the shortage                      
of adequate housing for military personnel and their dependents,               
directing the Alaska Housing Finance Corporation and certain                   
municipalities to develop a joint program for improving the inventory          
of housing for those personnel, and urging the governor, the                   
commissioner of natural resources and local officials to identify              
public land that might be made available for that housing, was read            
the second time.                                                               
                                                                               
Senator Leman, Chair, moved and asked unanimous consent for the                
adoption of the Senate Committee Substitute offered today.                     
Without objection, SENATE CS FOR HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION                        
NO. 24(STA) was adopted.                                                       
                                                                               
SENATE CS FOR HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION NO. 24(STA) was                           
read the second time.                                                          
                                                                               
The Rules Committee offered Amendment No. 1 :                                   
                                                                               
	Page 1, line 1:  Delete "the shortage of"                                     
	Page 2, line 7:  After "WHEREAS"                                              
	Insert:  "it is important to the economy of Alaska                            
		 to ensure that"                                                             
	Page 2, line 7:  Delete "a shortage of"                                       
	Page 2, lines 11 and 12:  Delete all material                                 
	Page 2, line 19:  Delete the first "the"  Insert "any"                        
                                                                               
Senator Jacko moved and asked unanimous consent for the adoption               
of Amendment No. 1.  Without objection, Amendment No. 1 was

Senator Taylor moved and asked unanimous consent that SENATE                   
CS FOR HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION NO. 24(STA) am S be                              
considered engrossed, advanced to third reading and placed on final            
passage.  Without objection, it was so ordered.                                
                                                                               
SENATE CS FOR HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION NO. 24(STA) am                            
S was read the third time.                                                     
                                                                               
The question being:  "Shall SENATE CS FOR HOUSE JOINT                          
RESOLUTION NO. 24(STA) am S Relating to adequate housing for                   
military personnel and their dependents, directing the Alaska Housing          
Finance Corporation and certain municipalities to develop a joint              
program for improving the inventory of  housing  for  those                    
personnel,  and  urging  the  governor,  the commissioner of natural           
resources and  local officials  to identify public land that might be          
made available for that housing, (technical title change) pass the
